Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves were busy, Everton and Fulham left it late, Manchester United fell short and Spurs didn’t bother
Arsenal’s biggest move of the summer was replacing Arsène Wenger with Unai Emery, but they have also strengthened their squad with five new signings. Bernd Leno will challenge Petr Cech in goal, while centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos and full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner will add experience at the back. Uruguay’s Lucas Torreira and 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi are intriguing additions in midfield. Jacob Steinberg
