Australian employment rises to 14 million jobs, but fewer hours worked

Almost 50,000 of new jobs created in Australia in the June quarter were in the construction industry

The number of jobs held in Australia rose in the June quarter, but fewer hours were worked across the nation.

The number of filled jobs rose by 0.8%, or 116,800 jobs in the three months to June, to 14 million jobs, according to seasonally-adjusted labour figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Friday.
