Australian households would save up to $200 a year on power bills under a Greens plan to set up a government-owned retailer, Power Australia, the minor party has claimed.
Greens leader Richard Di Natale will announce the policy on Wednesday at the National Press Club, the latest in a series of anti-privatisation pledges including the call for re-regulation of wholesale power prices and the creation of a “People’s Bank”.
