Lion Air plane was leaving the Indonesian capital for Pangkal Pinang when communication was lost
A passenger plane carrying 189 people has crashed into the sea off Jakarta, minutes after takeoff.
Lion Air flight JT610 was travelling from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang on the island of Bangka in Indonesia when it lost contact with air control just 13 minutes into the flight on Monday. Flight data showed it made a sudden, sharp dive into the sea.
