For the first time in its history, the Newcombe medal has been shared, with Ashleigh Barty and Alex De Minaur both honoured after stellar tennis seasons.
For Barty, it was the second straight year she took home the honour – Tennis Australia’s highest individual award – after reaching a career-high 15th in the world.
