Lewis Hamilton too good again at Abu Dhabi F1 GP with 2018’s last pole

• Lap time of 1min 34.794sec holds off Valtteri Bottas
• Fifth consecutive front-row lock-out for Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a final brilliant qualifying flourish by the five-times world champion as the season comes to a close at the Yas Marina circuit. He put in a consummate lap to take the top spot, with his Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, in second. It ensured they have completed their fifth consecutive front row lock-out at the circuit, the first team in F1 to achieve the feat.

Sebastian Vettel was in third, with his Ferrari team-mate, Kimi Räikkönen, and the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen in fifth and sixth.
