Rodrigo Duterte said he ‘takes marijuana to stay awake’ at international summits
President Rodrigo Duterte, whose war on drugs has taken the lives of thousands in the Philippines, caused outrage after he claimed he smoked marijuana to stay awake, though he later claimed the comment was just a joke.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Duterte addressed claims that during the recent Asean summit in Singapore he had missed several key meetings in order to take power naps.
