A partial shutdown of the US government looked certain on Friday as Donald Trump’s demands for border wall funding left Washington in a deadlock.
Even as frenetic negotiations continued at the Capitol, the House and Senate adjourned without a deal on spending Friday night, all but ensuring a partial closure at midnight.
