Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed Harry Kane will be out of action until March at the earliest after damaging ligaments in his left ankle during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United and which means he will miss the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Chelsea.
Kane hobbled away from Wembley at the weekend with severe swelling to the joint. It was feared then that the striker would be out for some time and Spurs confirmed as much in a tweet posted on Tuesday afternoon. It read: “Following preliminary assessments, we can confirm that @HKane has damaged ligaments in his left ankle, sustained during Sunday’s match. He will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as he commences rehabilitation and is expected to return to training in early March.”
