Study on undisclosed financial relationships between doctors and drug companies finds likely conflicts of interest

Experts developing guidelines to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases and diabetes are the least likely to disclose their financial ties with drug companies, a study led by Bond University in Queensland has found.

The first study in Australia to examine undisclosed financial relationships between drug companies and the doctors who write influential guidelines, it found almost one-in-four guideline writers who said they had no ties in fact had a likely conflict-of-interest.
