Sheriff says more people are missing as weather system sparks flurry of tornadoes across south-eastern US on Sunday
At least 14 people are dead and more are missing after a possible tornado in Alabama caused “catastrophic” damage, a sheriff has said.
Crews are searching a trail of destruction that is several miles long, Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones told WRBL-TV on Sunday. Jones said: “I can say that at this time we have 14 confirmed fatalities. And again, the search continues. We still have some people that are reported missing.”
