Virat Kohli amassed his 40th one-day international century but it was Vijay Shankar’s part-time seam bowling that helped India to a tense eight-run victory over Australia in Nagpur.
In a fluctuating second ODI that provided a nail-biting climax, Kohli, the India captain, turned to Shankar’s medium pacers for the final over because his more senior bowlers had completed their allocations.
