Chisholm candidate said in 2016 that Chinese-Australians viewed LGBT issues as ‘ridiculous rubbish’
Liberal candidate Gladys Liu has cancelled planned media appearances in the wake of Guardian Australia releasing audio of a 2016 interview in which she said Chinese-Australians viewed LGBT issues as “ridiculous rubbish”.
The Chisholm candidate has not responded to Guardian Australia since she was provided with a copy of the audio yesterday, before it was publicly released.
