Tom Blundell called from wilderness into New Zealand's World Cup squad

Wicketkeeper Tom Blundell was the surprise selection in New Zealand’s 15-man squad for the World Cup later this year, despite never having played the one-day format at international level.

The 28-year-old Blundell has played just two Tests, making a century on debut, and three Twenty20 internationals for New Zealand, but will serve as a backup to Tom Latham for the tournament in England and Wales later this year.
