Thailand has crowned its new king, Maha Vajiralongkorn, in an elaborate ceremony at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, which fused ancient Buddhist and Hindu Brahmin rituals. Vajiralongkorn vowed to 'reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the people for ever'
