The treasurer will be elected unopposed after state growth minister Michael Ferguson drops out of the running
The Tasmanian treasurer, Peter Gutwein, will be elected unopposed as the state’s premier after senior minister Michael Ferguson dropped out of the running to replace Will Hodgman.
Gutwein and Ferguson, the state growth minister, were vying for the top job in what is seen as a contest between the party’s moderate and conservative factions.
