On 25 July 2010 the final episode of the second season of MasterChef Australia became the most watched non-sporting television program in Australian history. Network Ten claimed that a peak audience of 5.7m had tuned in, more than a quarter of the country’s population.
I wasn’t one of them, of course, because I was in it.
