XPT passenger train was doing 100kph in 15kph zone before fatal derailment, interim report says

An XTP passenger train travelling from Sydney to Melbourne which derailed near Wallan in February came off the tracks because it was travelling at more than 100kph instead of at the 15kph speed limit, an interim report by the ATSB says.
