Australia's minimum wage to rise by $13 a week, but increase will be staggered

Fair Work Commission rejects business call for wage freeze, but rise will be below rate of inflation and will not apply to all groups immediately

The Fair Work Commission has ordered a $13 a week increase in the national minimum wage, or 1.75%.

The new minimum wage will be $753.80 a week or $19.84 an hour.
