Prime minister says he can see no reason why James Merlino should not take premier’s place although acting arrangements ‘not usual’
Victoria’s acting premier said he would be in the role “for some time” and may attend the next national cabinet meeting as the premier, Daniel Andrews, recovers from a broken vertebrae.
The prime minister, Scott Morrison, said he could see no reason why James Merlino would not take Andrews’ national cabinet seat.
