UN say estimate of 320 fatalities is being verified, with local authorities putting the death toll at 100, with 500 injured

Dozens of people have been killed after a series of powerful earthquakes hit western Afghanistan.

The UN said the death toll had risen to 320, before later saying the figure was still being verified. Local authorities have estimated 100 people have been killed and 500 injured, according to the same update from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
